On [.]., I'm now getting almost the same throughput that I get with an ethernet connection at the router. It improved internet speed dramatically which was my hope. Plugged in turned on and works well, so far. I bought this to speed up a wireless connection on a computer downstairs and about 30 feet from the router. Previous adaptor was not "N" compatible.
Took just a couple minutes. As always i warn every to steer away from using the software included it just complicates the installation. I got this for my HTPC which im also using to bridge my internet connection to my xbox. I just stuck the usb adapter in my Windows 7 32bit and it immediately recognized the adapter. Once it recognized the adapter i found my wireless network connected and entered my passphase and it worked immediately.
Linksys by Cisco WUSB600N Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter is a great buy for the right guy.You might have to up date a few things to get it working great but, this does not change it from beinga great product. I had to up date my firmware for my router and the USB chip but, after that it worked fine.
Gave my old Dell desktop to my daughter and used this product to get her wireless internet. Nice Product. No complaints.
Overall it worked straight out of the box first time and continues to be issue free for almost a month now. Highly recommend this for price and ease of use. The router for this application is also several rooms away and usually behind closed door(s). Have not experienced any drop-outs or connection issues of any kind. Installation took about 10 minutes and auto found the local server and ask for a key. Its wonderful to buy a device that you plug it in and works straight away. Typed in the key and was connected. I did have a little issue with finding a good place to put the desk module and its a bit top heavy for the cable but a little double sticky tape worked fine.
